WOMANS DAY CELEBRATION - 2022

Women’ s Day is celebrated around the world on the 8th of March to remember the women who fought in the earlier days for their freedom which later paved the way for modern women to reach heights that was deemed ‘Unreachable for a Woman’ by the patriarchy.

To honour the 1000s of women who achieved great heights and fame and  voice out for millions of silent women fighters, a celebration for International Women’s Day was organized at Sri Aurobindo Mira College of Education on the 8thy of March, 2022. All the educators and student- teachers of Sri Aurobindo Mira College of Education were invited  to make the event a grand and successful one. Chief Guest, Mrs. Debora Christina, an Assistant Professor of English of Lady Doak College of Arts and Science for Women was invited to address the gathering. An inspirational speech about positive transformation of the lives of teachers and how they influence students’ lives was given on the topic “Transform Lives”.   A bookmark with the message “Believe, Renew, Create” and a flower were given to all women present as a token of love and inspiration.

            A literary parade was done by the 1st year student-teachers to remember great women in our history honour their efforts and battles. Student- teacher Bharathi gave an emotional speech about the strong women who fought for their fundamental rights during the French Revolution, the actual reason behind celebrating International Women’s Day.

            Beautiful poems were written and recited in Tamil and English by Dhanam and Manjula Devi, respectively about the pride and joy of being a woman.
